Catherine's and Tracee's appointments and updates.
October 12, 2001 ~ Catherine (3 days) check up for bilirubin (jaundice) and weight check. The bilirubin was under control and she gained weight. She started at 7 lbs. 10 oz. at birth, then the next day dropped to 7 lbs. 1 oz. (normal), then the next day she dropped more to 6 lbs. 14 oz. (10% loss of her birth weight-slight concern). At this appointment she weighed 7 lbs. 3.9 oz. A great improvement! Next appointment made at Rancho Cordova with her pediatrician, Dr. Cutts.
October 24, 2001 ~ Catherine (2 weeks 1 day) doctor appt Dr. Cutts. Weight: 8 lbs 4 oz Height: 20.5 inches. Dr. Cutts said that she is doing very well. Especially the weight. They expect babies to reach their birth weight at 2 weeks, and she is over and that is good. He is a very nice doctor. Next appt is 12/10 for 2 months and immunizations! Could be interesting. The doctor did say that we have to be on her schedule and then at 2 months we can talk about getting her on our schedule.
November 20, 2001 ~ Tracee (Postpartum-6weeks) doctor appt w/Dr. LoBue: Everything is okay.
November 20, 2001 ~ I also took Catherine in for some eye discharge. Weight:9 lbs 11 oz. The eye discharge is just a plugged duct. Everything is good!
December 10, 2001 ~ Catherine (2 months 1 day) doctor appt w/ Dr. Cutts: Weight: 10 lbs 3 oz. Height: 23 3/4 in. Head Circumference: 15 1/4 in. She is a very healthy baby! She also is now more healthy because she had her shots today. 5 shots in total! Mommy and Daddy were both there. She still did not like the shots at all, but she made it through them alright! Dr. Cutts told us we were doing VERY well and have a cute, healthy baby.
February 12, 2002 ~ Catherine (4 months 3 days) doctor appt w/ Dr. Cutts: Weight: 12 lbs Height: 24 1/2 in. Head Circumference: 16 1/4 in. Again a very healthy baby! She is getting to start solids. Very slowly though. In fact first we will start off with Rice Cereal and then go from there. One new thing every week. We do get to do baby food, first veggies then fruits, but solids are not for nutrition, just to get a start so it will be in small amounts. By 6 months it will be for nutrition. Her shots went well, however, she cried a lot and there were even tears in her eyes. Her weight puts her in the 25 percentile, her height puts her in the 50 percentile, and her head circumference puts her in the 75 percentile. A very normal baby!! She really likes Dr. Cutts and was squealing and laughing while he talked to us and her. He asked about her sleeping through the night and I told him that she was except a 3:00 am feeding. He reminded me that we talked about it last time and that she does not need that feeding. She can sleep as long as we can and not need food at night. So I get to let her cry at 3:00 am. Should be interesting. Next appointment: 3 more shots and moving onto more solids.
April 9, 2002 ~ Catherine (6 months) doctor appt w/Dr. Cutts: Weight: 12.5 lbs Height: 24 3/4 in. Head Circumference: 16 3/4 in. Catherine is doing wonderful. She did not gain very much weight, but he is not worried too much since Mike and I are both petite people. We can start feeding her table foods, so she gets pretty much what we eat...but all mashed up. I am no longer breastfeeding so he made sure we were giving her formula with iron in it (which we were and have always given her). She had only 3 shots today, but still hated them just the same! We still have a very healthy baby! Next appointment at 10 months.
August 14, 2002 ~ Catherine
(10 months 5 days) doctor appt w/ FNP Callahan (Dr. Cutts was on vacation): Weight:
17 lbs 4 1/4 oz. Height: 27 in. Head Circumference: 17 3/4 in. Catherine
is doing wonderful as always! She really impressed the FNP. In fact
she called her S*M*A*R*T. That is exactly how she said it or rather
spelled it. She is growing in all ways she needs to be. Next appt is
at 1 year 3 months (15 months). I guess by then she should be saying 3-5
actual words!! She will!! 
January 21, 2002 ~ Catherine (1 year 3 months/15 months) doctor appt w/Dr. Cutts: Weight: 20.5 lbs Height: 30 in. Head Circumference: 18.5 in. Once again doing wonderful! Dr. Cutts was impressed with her talking, walking, and interaction. She got 4 shots, including the Chicken Pox vaccine. She took them well, and had little reaction to them. She slept the afternoon away. Luckily, she does not need anymore shots until Kindergarten. Next appointment is at 23/24 months ( 1 year 11 months/2 years).
September 4, 2003 ~
Catherine (1 year 11 months/23 months) doctor appt with Dr. Cutts:
Weight: 23 lbs (20th %ile) Height: 32
1/2 in. (20th %ile) Head Circumference: 19 in. As always everything
is fine. No shots. She did not want to be weighed, lay down to
measure her height, or let Dr. Cutts look into her ears. But she looked
over and away we went. Next appt is not until she is 3 years old.
October 8, 2004 ~ Catherine (2 years 12 months/24 months) doctor appt with Dr.
Cutts:
Weight: 27 lbs Height: 34 1/2 lbs Blood Pressure a little high, but she
was very nervous about being at the doctor. Dr. Cutts said that she is
still perfect and that we are doing wonderful! He had her draw a line and
an X, both she did wonderfully. Then he asked colors and she passed with
flying colors. He was also impressed with her speech! Dr. Cutts gave
Catherine a book to promote reading through Kaiser and also a Dora sticker for
being wonderful! Next appt is at 4 yrs old!
